The book reveals Kadir Nelson's passion for African Americans who struggled for equal rights. Nelson illustrations are attractive and complement the story line. The illustrations look like they were painted with oils with a small text of information at the bottom. The illustrations are the perfect touch to make this book a good read. There are 108 pages to view.
There is a timeline and bibliography along with dates and descriptions from 1565 to January 2009.
